Key West is in proximity of over 85 known wrecks in the Gulf Of Mexico to the North and in the Atlantic Ocean to the South. These wrecks are found in depths of water from 10 - 300 ft. Depending on the wreck and time of the year an angler can pull 10 sport fishing species off of just one wreck using various types of tackle. To fish the Gulf wrecks in the deeper waters it takes a special Federal permit. Our professional fishing guides have that very expensive permit.
Part of the only living coral reef in North America our reef here in Key West is constantly fed by loops coming out of the Gulf Stream forever replenishing the nutrients and creating more life maintaining a huge eco culture of an amazing number of fish. As one can imagine all those fish need some predators such as sailfish, dolphin, tuna, sharks, cobia, kingfish and many many more. That's what we fish for. Our wreck and reef captains are seasoned and know what is biting from one minute to the next.
Depending on where we go, how far we go and the seasons this list varies. Cobia, permit, tarpon, black, red, scamp and gag groupers, mangrove, lane, vermillion, dog, yellowtail and mutton snappers amber jack, jack crevalle, blue runners, bluefish, spanish and cero mackerel, bull, lemon, hammerhead, American sharp nose, sand, and black tip sharks, dolphin wahoo, black fin and yellowfin tuna, bonito, albacore, little tunny, barracudas, kingfish, sailfish, African pompano.
This trip is run by a few of our wreck and reef fishing guides. It is based on a "no boundaries" fishing approach where they are unleashed by fuel costs to run where the fish are and give you the most for your day on the water without concern to expenses. You can call our office and tell us what you would like to do and we will tell you how much it will cost in fuel and total expenses..
